What We Do?
How We Work
Since 1975, Capay Valley has been providing the purest honey in the Pacific Northwest. Our honey is known for its quality and exceptional taste. Produced in beautiful Capay Valley, our products won’t leave you disappointed.
Our Mission
Our business strives to educate the community on the importance of bees in our everyday world. According to the USDA, roughly a third of global farm production depends on pollination. It is our duty to protect these precious pollinators who provide us with the foods that we love. As beekeepers, we hope to continue to educate the public on how they can make a difference in their community.
Honey Bee Collection
Capay Valley produces queens and bees year round in the ideal climate of the Northern California. We are a leader in the industry because our beekeepers have many years of expertise and care about producing healthy and hygienic honey bees.
Honey Bee Management
Capay Valley Management is scheduled around natural nectar flows. Our Beekeepers want their colonies to reach maximum strength before the nectar flows begin. This way, bees store the honey as surplus that our beekeeper can harvest instead of use the honey to complete their spring build-up.
Filter & Bottle Your Honey
Honey is filtered so it is aesthetically pleasing to the consumer and ensures the honey remains fluid for a longer period of time. Filtering removes bee parts, wax and solids, including the majority of pollen that can hasten crystallization. Crystallization is the number one consumer complaint in regards to honey. The standard filtering method for North American packers is microfiltration with a permeate pore size of 0.1 to 10 micrometers (μm). It removes particles that are not visible to the naked eye.
